We are hiring in our finishing departments which involves operating a machine, inspecting products and equipment for defects, and communication with the team. Learn to manage a rewinding or spooling machine to remove defects and produce visually appealing, quality rolls of material that are in spec. Communicate with the Shift Supervisor about defects, overages and shortages. Build rapport by showing that you are committed to learning and can be relied upon to access opportunities for advancement. It is always our preference to train a Press Operator or Coating Operator when they have experience in one of our Finishing Departments.
Job Type: Full Time | 40 hours expected
Pay: $17-21/hour depending on manufacturing experience (with room for advancement)
Shift & Schedule: Day or Night Shift | 12 hour shifts | No weekends
- Weekday Schedule: Mon – Thurs 5AM – 5PM

Superior Tape and Label is currently looking to grow their purchasing/buying team.
In this role you will be an active member of the purchasing team. The role works closely with all departments at STL. Your primary goal will be to ensure accurate and timely deliveries.

Responsibilities
- Lace and oversee all material and supply orders (and any others as directed)
- Maintain accurate information with regard to all faucets of order placement (confirmations, delivery dates, shipping/tracking information, pricing, etc.)
- Maintain continual awareness of department budgets
- Continually monitor raw materials and supplies and place orders as needed to ensure there are no disruptions to service and/or production
- Maintain familiarity with pricing, lead times and vendor contracts.
- Consistently evaluate processes and schedules to ensure the most efficient and cost effective procurement
- Communicate intradepartmentally any changes to lead times, prices, delivery dates, etc.
- Schedule routine facilities maintenance as assigned

Adhesive Coating Line Tech

Superior Tape and Label is currently seeking individuals to train for the operation of our Coating and Converting Equipment. Unlike most label manufacturing companies who rely on outside vendors to supply adhesive coated materials, we manufacture our own custom label stock.
We have two 13” coating/converting lines built by the same equipment company. In this role, you will operate and control the equipment, either as the sole operator or part of a 2-operator team depending on which machine you operate. Both machines are capable of printing, coating and converting and are extremely versatile for producing a variety of tapes, labels and custom adhesive products.
Our equipment is capable of running dual webs or a single web, can print graphics, coat adhesive and perform die-cutting all in one pass. You will be manufacturing linerless adhesive products, as well as pressure-sensitive laminations and double-sided tapes.

- Stage, load and prepare paper rolls at the coater unwind, unload finished rolls at the coater rewind.
- Setup and operate Flexographic print stations, Gravure stations, silicone stations, hotmelt stations, rotary diecutting stations, and webbing the machine.
- Understand the quality standards, perform quality inspections using automated inspection equipment, and perform standard tests.
- Maintain logs and reports, reporting any anomalies that impact the quality of the process, complying with the product specifications.
- Prevent waste generation by ensuring procedures are followed.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Double check all job packets from order entry and have them out to production three days before they run.
- Handle and record any defects that the operators find while jobs are running in production.
- Report any job shortages to sales support.
- Check QA packets that press turns in to QA. Go thru each step of finished job packet staging process.
- Cut in half the retains that press turns in with the QA packets and place them in the oven for twenty four hours. After twenty hours perform the scratch test according to the twenty four hour scratch process.
- Preform 8 inch scratch test on retains from rewind and file in QA jobs in process bin.
- Collect all job retains and consolidate in to one bag to be shrink wrapped labeled and placed into storage according to the retain storage process.
- Complete any other assigned tasks or QA related projects.
- Perform IQC peel testing and record results.
- Create and update weekly scratched jobs check off list for spooling.
- Perform other necessary QA checks e.g. Ink pH and viscosity, as required
